Power Habits Coaching
Be Proactive(Taking Personal Responsibility):
This module emphasized the value of taking initiative and ownership of my actions. It taught me to be proactive in identifying and tackling challenges rather than waiting for them to escalate. This mindset shift greatly improved my approach to problem-solving professionally and personally.
Situation + Response = Outcome(S+R=O):
Understanding this equation was a game-changer for me. It highlighted that while we can’t always control events, we have full control over how we respond to them. This mindset shift helped me manage stress better and make more deliberate choices in my reactions and leading to more positive outcomes.
Handling Setbacks and Taking Action:
The frameworks Eldon exposed me to provide a structured way to process and learn from experiences, whether positive or negative. It helped me reflect on my actions, identify improvements and set future goals. These tools were invaluable in my personal development journey.
Begin With the End in Mind(Mission Statement):
Creating a mission statement gave me a clear sense of direction and purpose. It helped me align my actions with my long-term goals, both in my career and personal life. This module helped me stay focused and motivated, especially during challenging times.
Communication – Personality Traits & Survey by Carl Jung:
Understanding different personality types and communication styles was crucial in improving my relationships with colleagues, peers and subordinates. It allowed me to adapt my communication approach to better connect and collaborate with others.
Dealing with Procrastination/Taking Action:
Overcoming procrastination was a significant milestone for me. This module provided practical strategies to break tasks into manageable steps and take consistent action. It boosted my productivity and allowed me to accomplish more in both my professional and personal life.
As a result of the coaching, I am still exploring and benefiting from several of the books related to personal development that you exposed me to. Some notable ones are 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen Covey), Eat That Frog (James Clear) and on a personal note the Autobiography of Malcolm X these have provided valuable insights and strategies that complemented the Power Habits.
The coaching encouraged me to make some significant changes in my life. For instance, I started a new career journey from David Lloyd to Domestic & General, where I have greater responsibilities and commitments on my time, but now have the tools to manage them and seek their rewards and opportunities. I have also decided to run the London Marathon in 2024, challenging myself physically and mentally. Leaving my comfort zone and trying to find the best version of myself.
Overall the Power Habits series of coaching profoundly impacted my professional and personal life, enabling me to navigate challenges, improve relationships and achieve greater levels of productivity and fulfilment.
